5 Productive Things You Can Do During Quarantine!
Hey everyone! Oh man, it's crazy to think we're all in our homes in quarantine at the moment. Can I just say one thing I think is amazing is that we're all receiving the gift of time. Time to stop and take a breather from our normal busy schedules. For some this may be the worst thing (I'm talking about you, extroverts) but others may be already finding beauty in being in the comfort of their home. I believe that this time is precious, and we can either chose to use it wisely or waste it. As in my last blog post, I wrote about how I decided to make the most out of this season right from my flat. So here you are, a compiled list of things that you and I can do to stay productive during quarantine...enjoy!
Is anyone else's netflix thriving at the moment? Hahaha. I decided that I'll keep myself busy with a movie some days, but other days a more productive idea would be to watch something I can grow from, like a sermon! From starting this, I received some gems of wisdom that I wouldn't have gotten from Netflix and I made time to hear God speaking to me. Win-win!
(Some sermons that I love listening to are from Steven Furtick, Mike Todd, Hillsong Church, & Rich Wilkerson Jr. You can access these from Youtube)
I love this idea! Having direction and vision is key in getting to where you want to be, and becoming who you want to be. For this season, I suggest starting with "I want to get better at _______ in quarantine" and making a goal accordingly to accomplish this.
Here are some guidelines you can use for goal setting:
-Be Specific: Detail this goal!
-Make it Attainable: Make sure it is achievable.
-Make it Time-Based: Set a time limit/An end date for when you want to accomplish this.
5. Facetime/Zoom chat a friend!
I would say human connection in this time is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Keep in touch! Join your community on zoom. Trust me, it's so much better when you do than keeping to yourself in isolation. I believe you and I were made to be in communion with people. Let's conversate. Pray. Workout together. Motivate each other. Let's keep doing life together even if we can't physically meet up!
I truly hope that this encouraged you to stay productive and learning during this season. You got this! With God's help, may you stay motivated and know that there's an immense purpose for your life in this time.
Love you all,
Rithika
1. Pick up a couple books!
An old time friend, Dr. Seuss, put it this way "The more you read the more you'll know. The more you learn the more places you'll go." Isn't that so true?
My motivation here is I decided that I want to develop an excellence in what God has given me to serve others. So... I am taking this time to read more books and read more bible. I don't want to stop learning and gaining wisdom. Knowing that I have the tools to do so within the comfort of my home, why not take time to use them? ;)
Dare to pick up a book, you never know what perspectives, dreams, and passions could come out of that good read!

2. Learn how to cook better.
I remember coming to college a few months ago and having zero motivation to cook. Yet, I would only make the easiest recipes I could find or remember on the top of my head. But, this time in quarantine has been motivating me to become better at it, seriously! Here are 4 motivators that totally changed my mind:
1. When you're married and have a family, they're counting on your cooking, so why not learn now?
2. Cooking nutritional meals actually fill you up (no need to keep going to the pantry for snacks time and time again) and it gives you actual energy for the day!
3. If you make a meal for dinner, chances are you won't have to cook for a few days!
4. Let's be real, most of us are trying to workout from home, so it's great to balance those workouts with a clean diet!
